Adam's daily stock and trade is as one of Australia's leading vocal coaches whose students can be found in every major touring production in Australia. He currently has two more major works in development - 'We Men Are Giants' an exploration of the evolution of modern masculinity and 'Fleece - The Ballad of Charlie Rogers' the story of a digger suffering from post traumatic stress disorder returning home to life on a Victorian sheering station.

He is currently serving as Artistic Director of The ACA and is thrilled to be raising money for the students!

WHAT ARE WE RAISING MONEY FOR?

We are raising money to help the students of the ACA go to America and explore the Arts!

In September this year a group of our young artists will set off on a once in a lifetime journey to New York and Los Angeles. All  money raised from the walk will go towards lowering the cost of the trip to the families as for many it will be a real struggle.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to help get the kids on their way!

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Re-enacting (on foot) a common micro-migration for many regional artists around Australia: Adam Lyon, Cynthia Holsworth & Nelson Gardner, artists bred in Bendigo, will walk the Old Calder. This 182km distance leads from Nelson’s and Cynthia’s former high school, Bendigo South East College (where Adam is currently Artistic Director and Cynthia is Manager of the Academy of Creative Arts ‘ACA’) to the Victorian College of The Arts, where all three studied after moving to the Big Smoke.

Throughout their journey they will visit dance schools, choirs, galleries and artists along the way, exploring the history steeped river of creativity that flows between Melbourne and Bendigo.
